What is Fourth Man Roasters?
Fourth Man Roasters is a coffee brand of Kingdom Coffee Houses. We roast and sell coffee so that the proceeds can change lives, with 100% of profits going to philanthropic work.
What does the name mean?
It points to the fourth man in the fiery furnace in Daniel chapter 3. It reads as a cool brand name to the world, and those who know the story recognize the meaning. Faith is at the core of what we do.
Where does the money go?
One hundred percent of profits fund philanthropic and ministry work. The idea is simple: choose your consumption well, and every purchase can change the world.
What coffee is it?
Small-batch, single-origin coffee from two origins. Zambia comes off one farm, Living Hope, which supports orphan care. Uganda is grown by smallholder farmers in Bududa, on the slopes of Mount Elgon. Both come in four roasts, whole bean or ground at the mill. See how each one is grown on the our coffee page.
What is the difference between the Zambia and the Uganda?
They are two different coffees, not the same bean from two places. Zambia comes off a single twelve-acre farm on flat, fertile ground, and is washed and then dried in the shade rather than in open sun. Uganda is grown by over 400 smallholder farmers on volcanic slopes above 4,200 feet, in a region that has grown Arabica for more than a century. Altitude and soil do most of the work there.
We have not published formal tasting notes for either lot, because we do not put flavor claims on a bag we have not cupped and scored. The honest advice is to try a pound of each. Both are on the shop.

Which roast should I pick?
Light keeps the most character from the origin itself. Medium is the everyday middle, balanced and dependable. Dark spends longer in the roaster and comes out deep and bittersweet. Espresso is not a different bean, it is a medium-dark roast built to hold up under pressure.
